The launch trailer
Rockstar Games released a launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday, 15 October 2026, about a month before the game's 19 November release. The Verge and Spiegel put its length at about 90 seconds, while Notícias ao Minuto gives 1:30. The footage follows Jason and Lucia through missions, car chases, gunfights, a shower scene and a jump from a building into a swimming pool. The trailer opens with Jason's narration about trouble in the army, followed by a call from Lucia from prison. TechRadar reads this as a sign that the prologue is told from Jason's perspective. Rockstar's own synopsis sets out the premise:
Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them
The synopsis goes on to describe a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, in which the pair must rely on each other more than ever. According to The Verge, Rockstar captured the trailer entirely on a PS5.
Music and soundtrack
The trailer is set to "Flower in a Hurricane", a track by the French electronic duo Justice made with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. BFMTV reports that the song is already available on streaming platforms. Spiegel notes that the video's description names Justice as composers of the original score. The soundtrack contains 34 unreleased tracks, and Rockstar revealed six of them in September. Those six include RHYNO by Travis Scott, produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, a former Daft Punk member, along with Bright Lights, Big City by Keith Richards and Last Thing You Need by Morgan Wallen. The Verge notes that music has always been central to the series. Spiegel also reports that the Miami Heat are to play one evening as the "Vice City" team, with a "Welcome to Vice City" sign already on the roof of the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Release date, platforms and PC
GTA VI is scheduled for 19 November 2026. Notícias ao Minuto notes that the game is confirmed only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, and no PC date has been announced. The same outlet reports that GamesBeat expects a PC version in the first quarter of 2027. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg that a PC release could come in early 2027 and coincide with a new version of the online mode. Watson says PC players will probably have to wait until early 2027 at the earliest.

Leaks and reporting around the release
Spiegel describes news about the game arriving almost daily, including leaks from a dubious source linked to an extortion attempt against Rockstar Games. Jason Schreier published a making-of piece for Bloomberg on Wednesday, 14 October. The Verge reports that leaks have kept spreading online and reveal some of the more sensitive elements of the game. Watson notes that the trailer includes an electronic soundtrack and a short scene in which Jason describes trouble in the army and having been denied loans.
