Marvel Studios returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 25, 2026, for a Hall H panel led by Marvel president Kevin Feige. The studio laid out its most important projects through 2028, confirming a Ghost Rider film with Ryan Gosling, revealing the first details of Black Panther 3, and screening exclusive footage from Avengers: Doomsday. The presentation drew thousands of fans and featured a parade of stars across multiple upcoming productions, including cast members from the next MCU installment after Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which opens in theaters on Friday, July 31.

Ghost Rider arrives with Gosling

One of the biggest surprises of the evening was the official confirmation of a Ghost Rider feature film. Ryan Gosling walked on stage to a stunned crowd. He then told the audience that if this project was going to become reality, there was only one director suited for it. Moments later, Shawn Levy, the director of the box-office hit Deadpool & Wolverine, appeared on stage. Marvel confirmed the film will reach theaters in 2028 but has not yet communicated an exact release date.

Black Panther 3 passes the mantle

Marvel confirmed that Black Panther 3 is in development with a release date set for December 15, 2028. The production will place David Jonsson in the lead role of T'Challa, the son of the original Black Panther, a character made emblematic by the late Chadwick Boseman. Director Ryan Coogler took the Hall H stage alongside returning cast members Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, who are reprising their roles from the franchise. Jonsson addressed the crowd directly, saying he preferred the screen to speak for itself but that the honor was entirely his.

First look at Doomsday

Marvel screened the first footage from Avengers: Doomsday, the next MCU installment. The teaser images show the villain Doctor Doom dominating a confrontation with the Avengers and leading an army of Sentinels, the giant mutant-hunting robots known from Marvel's X-Men comics. Feige welcomed directors Anthony and Joe Russo to the stage along with an extensive cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, and Hayley Atwell. Atwell confirmed she will return in the new film as Peggy Carter. In a theatrical closing moment, each attendee at the panel received a Doctor Doom mask and cloak as a gift, and Robert Downey Jr. began speaking in character, addressing the Hall H crowd as Victor von Doom.

The shape of the MCU through 2028

With three projects now dated or confirmed through 2028, Marvel is building its next phase around a mix of new franchises and generational transitions. Ghost Rider introduces Ryan Gosling into the MCU in a standalone property, while Black Panther 3 formally passes the Wakandan mantle from Boseman's era to a new T'Challa. Avengers: Doomsday bridges the current slate toward those 2028 releases with a large ensemble and a villain-driven storyline that draws on the X-Men universe through the Sentinel army. The studio did not announce a release date for Doomsday, keeping that reveal for a later event. The Comic-Con presentation marks the studio's most concrete roadmap since the end of the Multiverse Saga, with two films set for 2028 and a large ensemble piece arriving before them.
