Fedez announces birth of third child Edoardo Lupo with partner Giulia Honegger: 'A joy so great'

The birth

Italian rapper Fedez, born Federico Leonardo Lucia, became a father for the third time on Thursday 16 July 2026. His partner, Giulia Honegger, gave birth to a boy, Edoardo Lupo Lucia, at Milan's San Raffaele hospital in the afternoon. The birth came slightly ahead of schedule; the baby had been expected towards the end of July. News of the arrival was first reported by the magazine Gente on the evening of 17 July, citing verified sources, before Fedez himself confirmed it on Instagram the following morning.

A joy so great

The rapper posted a carousel of photos from the hospital, showing himself and Honegger with the newborn, whose face was covered to protect his privacy. The post also included drawings made by his two older children, Leone and Vittoria, welcoming their new brother.

A growing family

Edoardo Lupo is Fedez's third child and his first with Honegger. The rapper has two children from his previous marriage to fashion influencer and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni: Leone, born on 19 March 2018, and Vittoria, born on 23 March 2021. The couple divorced in 2025. Fedez had dedicated songs to each of his first two children, "Prima di ogni cosa" to Leone and "Vittoria" to his daughter, and Italian media have already speculated that a new track for Edoardo may follow.

Honegger, 23, is a stylist and entrepreneur, co-founder of the independent fashion brand Ayme. This is her first child. The couple's relationship became public in late summer 2025, months after Fedez's divorce, when they were photographed together at a beach club in Versilia owned by a friend, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio. They later confirmed their relationship on social media with a photo of their hands forming a heart and the caption "Bro, you just posted cringe".

A private pregnancy

Unlike the highly publicised years of Fedez's marriage to Ferragni, when family life was documented step by step on social media, the pregnancy with Honegger was kept almost entirely out of the public eye. The couple did not reveal the baby's sex, and even close friends were left guessing, fuelling a "toto-nomi" and "toto-sesso", a guessing game over the name and gender, that continued until the final month, as reported by the weekly magazine Chi.

Fedez made only rare exceptions to the silence. A few days before the birth, while on holiday in Forte dei Marmi, he shared an Instagram story showing Honegger in a swimsuit with her baby bump clearly visible, accompanied by a white heart emoji. Observers took it as a sign that the due date was near. In the weeks before the birth, Fedez had also shared occasional glimpses of the new Milan home he and Honegger moved into, but otherwise kept details of their life together private.

The announcement

After the birth on 16 July, Fedez's social media accounts remained silent for more than 24 hours, consistent with the couple's low-profile approach. The first public confirmation came from Gente on 17 July. On the morning of 18 July, Fedez broke his silence with the Instagram carousel and the caption "Una gioia così grande". The post quickly drew attention from fans and Italian media.

The arrival of Edoardo Lupo marks a new chapter for the 36-year-old rapper, who has spoken in past interviews about the importance of fatherhood. With the birth, Fedez now balances a blended family that includes two children from his previous marriage and a newborn with his current partner.
