Highway blockage between regional junctions
The fatal crash resulted in the complete closure of the A2 motorway in the direction of Warsaw. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways announced that the highway corridor between the Łukowisko junction and the Siedlce Wschód junction was entirely blocked. Law enforcement officers and highway safety teams closed access points to prevent additional vehicles from entering the affected corridor. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways indicated that the traffic disruptions and closure measures were expected to remain in effect until approximately 17:00. Drivers travelling along this segment of the A2 faced substantial traffic bottlenecks while emergency personnel and investigators carried out on-site operations.
Official detour route for westbound traffic
To manage the flow of traffic bound for Warsaw, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways organized a mandatory bypass route around the obstructed motorway segment. Drivers travelling towards the capital must exit the A2 motorway at the Łukowisko junction and merge onto National Road 19. From National Road 19, vehicles are directed onto National Road 92 to continue their journey westward toward the Siedlce Wschód junction. Upon reaching the Siedlce Wschód interchange, motorists are able to rejoin the A2 motorway and continue along their original route to Warsaw. Highway management personnel advised all drivers in the Lublin and Masovian border region to follow local detour signage and anticipate prolonged travel durations throughout the afternoon.
