Vehicle collides with tree on rural route

A fatal road collision occurred on the evening of Saturday, 3 October 2026, on a county road passing through the village of Białczyk in Gorzów County, Lubuskie Voivodeship. The incident occurred shortly before 19:00 on a straight section of the rural road connecting Witnica and Pyrzany. A Renault passenger car carrying three occupants was travelling along the route, with initial police findings indicating it was moving from Pyrzany in the direction of Białcz. For undetermined reasons, the vehicle suddenly veered off the carriageway and struck a roadside tree.

The driver of the Renault vehicle, probably travelling from the town of Pyrzany towards the town of Białcz, left the road for unexplained reasons and hit a tree.

Emergency response and occupant casualties

Emergency dispatchers were alerted to the collision at 19:04, prompting the immediate mobilization of first responders to the scene. The deployment included four fire brigade units, local police patrols, and ground emergency medical service teams. First responders confirmed that the driver and one passenger suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash. The third occupant, a passenger, survived the impact with severe injuries that required urgent trauma care. A Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter was dispatched to airlift the surviving victim to a hospital in Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The driver of the Renault vehicle struck a tree for undetermined reasons. As a result of this incident, two people died in the accident, and a third in serious condition was transported by an Air Ambulance helicopter to the hospital in Gorzów.

Road closure and prosecutorial investigation

The collision caused an immediate obstruction on the county road between Witnica and Pyrzany. Emergency services and law enforcement completely blocked the thoroughfare around the crash site in Białczyk to secure the area and allow emergency operations to proceed. Officers from the Gorzów Wielkopolski Municipal Police Headquarters initiated on-site procedural actions to determine why the vehicle left the straight roadway. All investigative activities at the scene are being conducted under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
