Two passenger buses collided head-on in the village of Ujeździec Mały, near Trzebnica in Lower Silesia, on Friday morning, 10 July 2026. The emergency call reached services at 6:51 a.m. The crash occurred on a bend in the road, at the height of the Tarczyński company plant. A Citroën bus, driven by a lone occupant, crossed into the opposite lane for reasons still unknown and struck a Mercedes bus carrying six people. The Citroën driver died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts that lasted several dozen minutes.
A Citroën and a Mercedes were involved. The driver of the Citroën, despite resuscitation being undertaken, died at the scene.

Eight fire service units, police, and other emergency crews worked at the site. A helicopter from the Polish Medical Air Rescue (LPR) landed to airlift two seriously injured people to hospital. A third person from the Mercedes was also transported by ambulance. The remaining three occupants of the Mercedes were assessed at the scene. In total, seven people were travelling in the two vehicles: the sole driver of the Citroën and six in the Mercedes.

The road through Ujeździec Mały was completely blocked following the collision. Police warned that disruptions would continue for several more hours while investigators documented the scene and cleared the wreckage. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes.
Investigation underway
Police are investigating the exact circumstances and cause of the crash under the supervision of a prosecutor. Early findings indicate the Citroën driver veered into the oncoming lane on a curve, but what prompted that manoeuvre remains undetermined. Officers have not ruled out any possibilities, including driver error, a medical episode, or a mechanical fault. The investigation is ongoing.
Preliminary findings indicate that for unknown reasons one of the buses veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the second vehicle.
