Outbreak in Lipnica Dolna
In the early morning hours of 1 October 2026, emergency units responded to a destructive farm fire in the village of Lipnica Dolna, located in Bochnia County in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Emergency dispatchers received the initial alert at 02:29 during the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Flames quickly engulfed a large agricultural livestock building measuring 20 meters by 15 meters. At the time the blaze erupted, approximately 40 head of cattle, comprising adult cows and young calves, were housed inside the structure. Responders arriving on the rural property encountered heavy smoke and rapid fire development that placed an adjacent residential house in immediate danger.
Livestock losses and structural damage
Firefighters and farm handlers managed to release a portion of the livestock into open ground, but many animals remained trapped inside the burning enclosure. A substantial portion of the herd died in the flames as the roof and walls of the 20-by-15-meter building collapsed into rubble. The spreading fire also ignited a dust silo situated close to an adjacent carpentry workshop on the same farmstead. Fire crews quickly set up water curtains to suppress the burning dust silo and contain the fire before it reached the main woodworking facility. Officials confirmed that despite the severe destruction of the farm facilities, no human injuries occurred among occupants or emergency crews.

Crews poured continuous streams of water over the smouldering wreckage and thoroughly soaked the interior of the sawdust silo. Firefighters remained on the grounds through the morning hours to monitor temperatures and eliminate any possibility of rekindled flames.
