What police found

Police in the Podkarpackie region said an object resembling an unmanned aircraft was found on an uninhabited private plot in Lubaczów. A report reached the local police station shortly after 13:00 on Wednesday, 21 October, saying a suspicious object lay on one such property. Officers sent to the address confirmed that an item resembling a drone was lying on the plot. They cordoned off the area around the find and checked that no one was in danger.

Police said nobody was hurt. Podkarpackie police spokesman Piotr Wojtunik posted the information on X. The Military Gendarmerie spokesman, Dariusz Rozkosz, confirmed the find to PAP and described the object as unidentified.

“An unidentified object was found on the grounds of a private property in the town of Lubaczów.”

Agencies notified

Officers informed the Internal Security Agency (ABW), the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), the Military Gendarmerie and the district prosecutor's office in Lubaczów. Outlets described the two intelligence agencies as responsible for protecting the state's internal security and for military counterintelligence. Military Gendarmerie personnel were also sent to the scene. Polsat News reported that the services were examining a possible pyrotechnic hazard at the site.

What remains unclear

The articles do not say what the object is, where it came from or how it reached the plot. Polsat News and Super Nowości described the object as having fallen onto the property, while the police and Military Gendarmerie statements describe it as found there. Super Express described it as resembling a drone, not as confirmed to be one. No later police or prosecutor update was available at the time of reporting.
