Representatives from the Ministry of National Defence confirmed that the impact resulted in no injuries or fatalities among local residents. The ministry also noted that the event caused no material damage to homes, public infrastructure, or nearby property in the village.
Radar detection and overnight border attacks
The incident occurred after several hours of cross-border military activity detected by Romanian surveillance networks. During the night of 1 to 2 October, radar monitoring systems operated by the Ministry of National Defence recorded new drone strikes targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure in Ukraine. These strikes took place in close proximity to the Romanian river border in the northern section of Tulcea county. Despite the debris falling on Romanian soil, the defence ministry stated that its radar systems detected no unauthorized entry into Romanian national airspace throughout the preceding night.
In the night of 1 to 2 October, the radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected new drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, in the proximity of the river border with Romania, in the northern area of Tulcea county.
Emergency response and perimeter security
Emergency services mobilized immediately following the notification of the 05:00 impact near Plauru. An emergency vehicle from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) was dispatched to the scene together with teams from the Ministry of National Defence to tackle the fire. Firefighters and military personnel worked together to bring the flames under control and prevent any spread to surrounding vegetation. Following the containment of the fire, military units secured the entire impact area to prevent unauthorized access and protect physical remnants for technical examination.
