Céline Dion arrives in Paris for 16-night residency after years away from touring
The Canadian singer checked into the Hotel Le Royal Monceau on Friday ahead of her 16-show residency at the Plenitude Arena, which begins on 12 September 2026.

Canadian singer Céline Dion arrived in Paris on the afternoon of 28 August 2026, two weeks before opening her new concert series. Dion reached the Hotel Le Royal Monceau in the capital's 8th arrondissement around 14:00, where a crowd of fans and photographers waited outside. Wearing a beige trench coat over a black outfit, black pumps, large sunglasses, and a tight hair bun, the 58-year-old singer waved and blew kisses to the gathering. She spent several minutes speaking with supporters before entering the hotel building. Fans greeted her arrival with shouts, with French newspaper Le Parisien quoting one supporter named Samuel describing her appearance as seeing the Messiah emerge. The singer is expected to reside in the 8th arrondissement near the Avenue des Champs-Élysées for approximately seven weeks.
Speaking to French broadcaster BFM outside the hotel, Dion addressed her return to France.

Concert schedule at Plenitude Arena
The residency opens on 12 September 2026 at the Plenitude Arena in Paris and features 16 concert dates across a five-week span. The series will conclude its 2026 leg on 17 October. Organizers initially scheduled 10 performances when the comeback was announced in March 2026, but added six further dates to meet heavy ticket demand. Dion is also scheduled to return to the venue the following year for a second performance block. That second run consists of 10 concerts scheduled between 8 May and 29 May 2027.

Diagnosis of Stiff-Person Syndrome
The Paris concert series marks Dion's first continuous residency since the cancellation of her Courage World Tour in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. In late 2022, Dion publicly revealed that doctors had diagnosed her with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological autoimmune condition. The disorder causes progressive muscle rigidity and severe, painful spasms in the torso and limbs. The condition also impairs vocal cord control, which previously forced the cancellation of multiple scheduled tours and appearances. In the spring video message announcing the Paris concerts, Dion described the opportunity to return to the stage as the best birthday gift of her life.

Limited stage performances since 2022
Since disclosing her diagnosis, Dion has performed live on stage on only two occasions. In July 2024, she sang "Hymne à l'amour" from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. In November 2024, she gave a stage performance in Riyadh at a fashion show dedicated to designer Elie Saab. Health challenges prevented an in-person appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, an event she previously won in 1988 representing Switzerland with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". Dion instead delivered a video message to Basel viewers after a planned live performance was dropped on short notice for medical reasons. Preparations and technical rehearsals will continue at the Plenitude Arena until the opening night on 12 September.
