Recent reports from prison
The hospital trip came about a week after an NBC News report on life inside the prison, according to SIC Notícias. Combs was reportedly involved in a brawl with another inmate in July that led to a stint in solitary confinement, according to LBC and SAPO, and 20 Minuten reported that the dispute began after the other man insulted him. NBC News reported, citing four men who served time alongside him, that other inmates received funds in their commissary accounts in exchange for chores such as making his bed and cleaning his toilet and shower, as well as giving him massages. According to LBC, the same four men said he allegedly spent thousands of dollars a month on his lifestyle. Other claims, which 20 Minuten said have not been independently confirmed, include access to a mobile phone, a tablet, alcohol and the purchase of prescription medication from other inmates. Fort Dix officials sanctioned Combs for "disruptive conduct" and stripped him of 41 days of good conduct time accrued over his first year at the facility.
Conviction and release date
A jury convicted Combs of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges after an extensive trial in the summer of 2025. According to 20 Minuten, he was sentenced to 50 months and a fine of $500,000, and about 13 months of pretrial detention are credited to the sentence. He and his attorneys are awaiting a decision on their appeal. The Hollywood Reporter, The Independent and SIC Notícias give March 2028 as his current release date, with SIC Notícias specifying 2 March 2028. LBC said his release was moved in September from 8 May 2028 to 21 January 2028, and 20 Minuten also gave January 2028 as the date, so the reports differ on the sequence of changes.
Open questions
The Independent said further details were not immediately available and that it had contacted the prison for comment. Whether the head injury is linked to the July brawl or any other incident is unclear, according to 20 Minuten. Combs has rejected all the allegations against him, 20 Minuten reported, and the claims about his privileges remain unverified in the reporting.
