Back in Los Angeles, manager Jimmy (Paul W. Downs) uncovers a massive fraud while working as a mailroom clerk at Latitude. He discovers that Kayla's father has been selling the voices and likenesses of dead clients to AI companies and pocketing over $10 million. Jimmy and Kayla (Megan Stalter) confront him at a company retreat and successfully blackmail him into handing over the company.

Co-creator Lucia Aniello explained that Deborah's illness was always intended as a narrative device for the ultimate redemption.
