Fifty dachshunds will test their sprinting abilities on Sunday in Oberkrämer, a municipality situated in the Oberhavel district of Brandenburg. The sprint tournament is held as an integral part of the annual harvest festival, known locally as the Erntefest, hosted in the village district of Bärenklau. Ahead of the races, dachshund owners must register their dogs to secure a spot in the lineup. The official starting signal for the sprint contest will sound at 16:00. Organizers announced that 50 agile dogs will take part in the one-on-one head-to-head heats.

The competition course consists of a straight sprint track measuring 41 meters in length. Dogs will compete directly in pairs to determine which animal reaches the end of the 41-meter stretch first. Organizers noted that finishing times and victory are often secondary considerations during the tournament.
