Fabrizio Corona reported in Milan for driving without licence after fleeing a police stop
Former paparazzi king Fabrizio Corona was reported by Milan carabinieri after he ignored a stop order on corso Sempione, drove without a licence and was chased for about 700 metres. The SUV he was driving was already under an administrative hold and has been seized.
The stop and the chase
On the night of Wednesday, 14 October, a carabinieri patrol at the corner of corso Sempione and via Moscati signalled a driver to stop. Il Fatto Quotidiano reports that Corona ignored the order, made a risky manoeuvre and kept going for about 700 metres before being intercepted. Messaggero and Fanpage identify the vehicle as a Range Rover Velar, and Fanpage adds that the patrol came from the Radiomobile unit and that the driver accelerated rather than pulling over. Once stopped, the officers found that he was not holding a driving licence.
Charges and seizure
Carabinieri reported Corona for driving without a licence and dangerous flight, and ANSA adds a violation of road signage. The checks showed that the vehicle was already under an administrative hold, and it was seized. Il Fatto Quotidiano and La Stampa both note that he had been reported several times in past years for driving without a licence.
Earlier assault outside his home
Corona's lawyer, Ivano Chiesa, confirmed to TgR Lombardia that his client had been attacked by six people. Chiesa described his client's own account of the incident.
He says: 'I defended myself, one against six, I did what I could.'
According to the lawyer, Corona had only some scratches and was not seriously hurt. Repubblica, citing carabinieri checks at the Porta Monforte station, reported that the group surrounded him, threatened him with a screwdriver and beat him, taking a pair of earrings and two necklaces worth about 400 euros. Il Fatto Quotidiano places the attack near his home in piazzale Dateo, while Fanpage places it in the piazzale Susa area and dates it to Saturday, 10 October. Corona was not taken to hospital.

Threats in September
Fanpage also reports that in September two 20-year-olds threatened Corona by chat and demanded 500 euros. Corona went to the police headquarters, and with officers he met the two young men. One of them smashed the rear window of the Range Rover with a chain. Both were reported for attempted extortion and aggravated damage.
