Chinese truckmakers Geely Farizon and Foton to showcase electric lineups at IAA 2026

Chinese commercial vehicle presence at Hannover Messe

The biennial IAA Transportation 2026 trade fair will open on 14 September 2026 at the Hannover Messe Exhibition Center in Germany, running through 20 September. More than 460 Chinese companies will participate in the commercial vehicle gathering. Manufacturers from China will present electric and hydrogen transport platforms designed for European logistics operations. Leading automotive groups Geely Farizon and Foton Motor will headline these exhibitions with fleets of zero-emission vans, heavy trucks, and component systems.

Geely Farizon debuts electric truck and delivery lineup

Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group will make its international trade fair appearance at outdoor Booth P55 with three battery-electric models. The heavy-duty Homtruck will make its official European debut, configured with a 600-kilowatt-hour battery pack that delivers a range exceeding 500 kilometres. The company will also display the Farizon SV, a purpose-built electric van that earned runner-up honours for International Van of the Year 2026. For urban logistics, the V7E delivery van will offer 6.95 cubic metres of cargo space, a combined WLTP range of 328 kilometres, and a payload rating of 1,373 kilograms alongside more than 14 standard driver-assistance features. The V7E stands among three finalists for the International Van of the Year 2027 award, with results scheduled for announcement on 14 September.

Foton Motor showcases multi-segment vehicle range

Foton Motor will present its largest exhibition fleet to date, featuring seven new energy vehicles and six self-developed powertrain components. The company will host the global launch of the CAVAN BEACON heavy truck, available in hydrogen and battery-electric configurations. Additional vehicle exhibits will include the FOTON GALAXUS R9 plug-in hybrid, which completed testing in Spain, the eGALAXUS D3 sweeper truck, the DAYSTAR light truck, the TUNLAND V9 plug-in hybrid pickup, and the eAURORA electric bus. The manufacturer will also exhibit heavy-vehicle battery packs, light and heavy electric-drive axles, vehicle controllers, and megawatt-level charging stations.

International expansion targets and infrastructure

At the exhibition, Foton will announce its European Strategy and celebrate its 13 millionth vehicle delivery globally. Multiple pure electric vans and light trucks from the manufacturer have obtained European Union Whole Vehicle Type Approval certifications, enabling commercial distribution across 15 European countries as well as Australia and New Zealand. Foton operates 32 localized assembly plants across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, supported by 18 regional parts distribution centers.

Under its overseas 3040 plan, Foton targets 400,000 annual vehicle sales outside China by 2030, with new energy models accounting for 30% of that volume. The company recorded 165,000 export units in 2025 and delivered 149,000 export units between January and August 2026, marking a 44.3% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.
