Girl dies in hospital four days after Co Cavan crash that killed her mother, 53-year-old Nell Raven

Her young daughter, who was travelling as a passenger, suffered critical injuries and was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin. The child's death

The girl remained in critical condition in hospital over the weekend. On Tuesday afternoon, July 28, she died. Gardaí confirmed the death in a statement issued to the media that evening. The loss of the child makes the collision a double fatality for the Raven family. The child's identity has not been made public.

Garda appeal

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for witnesses, specifically asking anyone who was travelling on the R162 between 4.15pm and 5pm on Friday, July 24, to come forward.
