Céline Dion recovers from stage fall and forgotten lyrics at 11th Paris concert
During her eleventh residency show at the Plénitude Arena in Paris, Céline Dion fell during a dance routine and later forgot the words to a hit song before the audience intervened.
Stage fall during dance routine
During her eleventh concert in Paris on Wednesday evening, Céline Dion experienced two unscripted incidents in front of 35,000 spectators at the Plénitude Arena. While performing Dans un autre monde, a track from her 1998 album S'il suffisait d'aimer, the 58-year-old singer slipped and fell to the stage floor. Dion lost her balance after stepping on the hem of her trousers while hopping on one leg during a dance routine. She landed on her thigh but rose to her feet almost immediately without sustaining an injury. Acknowledging the startled reaction in the arena, she raised her thumb toward the audience and continued singing without interruption.
Audience assists with forgotten lyrics
A second interruption occurred later in the evening during the performance of her standard Pour que tu m'aimes encore. Visibly moved by emotion, Dion stopped after the opening lines and acknowledged that the lyrics had escaped her memory. She walked across the stage while the crowd stepped in to sing the remaining verses in unison. After composing herself, she thanked the arena audience for their immediate support and apologized for the lapse in memory.
Fortunately you are here. I am sorry.
Dion later told the spectators that hearing them deliver the words brought joy to her heart after an extended time away from performing the song.
When you sing my songs, when you tell me the words of those that I have not sung in a little too long, it makes a boom in my heart.
Medical oversight and stage return
The Paris engagement represents Dion's return to extended touring following a six-year break caused by stiff-person syndrome. The Canadian artist revealed her diagnosis in December 2022, explaining that the rare autoimmune condition triggers muscle rigidity and painful spasms in the chest, back, and abdomen. The disorder affects approximately one person in a million and has no known cure. Prior to her September return, Dion had performed in full only once since 2020, limiting herself to short appearances such as the 2024 Paris Olympic opening ceremony and a fashion showcase in Riyadh. A medical team remains stationed alongside her throughout the Paris residency to monitor her physical condition.

Residency attendance and tour schedule
High-profile attendees watched Wednesday's performance from the venue boxes, including actress Zendaya, fashion designer John Galliano, and French rappers Gazo and SDM. The show forms part of a 26-date run of sold-out concerts at the arena. The singer previously encountered wardrobe trouble during her second concert of the residency when her stage outfit caused movement issues. Dion is scheduled to return to the Plénitude Arena stage on Friday evening for the twelfth concert of the engagement. Her itinerary includes five more shows before taking a break of several months ahead of a planned stage return in May 2027.
