Brighton beats Coventry 5-0 as Babis Kostoulas scores first Premier League goal

Kostoulas delivers early breakthrough

Midfielder Yasin Ayari concluded the match in the fourth minute of stoppage time, firing an accurate effort from outside the penalty area into the net. The victory moved Brighton to seven points from their opening four matches, placing the club in fourth position in the Premier League table level on points with Chelsea. Newly promoted Coventry City, coached by Frank Lampard, remain at the bottom of the division in 20th place with zero points after suffering four consecutive defeats. The five-goal defeat leaves Coventry as the only team in the Premier League yet to register a single point during the 2026 campaign.
