Body of missing 10-year-old boy recovered from Pisuerga river in Valladolid
Rescue teams recovered the body of a 10-year-old boy from the Pisuerga river in Valladolid late Saturday night, about two and a half hours after he disappeared while playing near the shore.
The boy was last seen around 9 p.m. near the Las Moreras river beach, accompanied by a friend. Witnesses reported that he fell into the water and did not resurface. Emergency services were alerted at 9:15 p.m. and deployed police, firefighters, divers, and a psychological support team. Underwater rescue units located his body at approximately 11:30 p.m., close to where witnesses had seen him sink. Jacinto Canales, the subdelegado del Gobierno, said the main hypothesis is that the child fell in accidentally and drowned. The judicial police have opened an investigation, and a forensic doctor attended the scene near midnight. The boy's mother and his friend, both present at the time, are receiving psychological assistance.
