Roberto Bolle to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027, first Italian dancer honoured

Roberto Bolle, the Italian ballet star and étoile of La Scala in Milan, has been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on 24 July 2026. He is the first dancer from Italy to earn the honour, joining a pantheon of Italian cinema and music legends already immortalised on Hollywood Boulevard.

The announcement in Los Angeles

Bolle's name was revealed overnight in Los Angeles among 32 personalities chosen for the 2027 class, selected from hundreds of nominations. The ceremony was presented by actress Ming-Na Wen, musician Sheila E. and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Ron Frierson. Bolle was chosen in the Live Theatre/Live Performance category, alongside comedian Jo Koy and singer Nicole Scherzinger.

'A dream come true'

Bolle, 51, began dancing at age 11 and has performed with the Royal Ballet in London and the American Ballet Theatre in New York, where he was the first Italian dancer to become a Principal Dancer. Reacting to the news on social media, he described the recognition as one of the most significant of his life.

There are milestones that seem to belong to dreams. Until the day they become reality. Becoming part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027 is one of those moments. A recognition that deeply moves me and which I consider among the most important of my life and my career.

He stressed that the achievement was not his alone, thanking his family, his team, his supporters and the public. Bolle added that the star carries a piece of dance, art and Italy into the heart of Hollywood.

The Italian Walk of Fame legacy

Bolle becomes the 19th Italian artist celebrated on the famous Los Angeles pavement. Previous Italian honourees include Anna Magnani, Rodolfo Valentino, Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, Giancarlo Giannini, Franco Nero, Bernardo Bertolucci, Lina Wertmueller, Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti. The star for special-effects pioneer Carlo Rambaldi, creator of E.T. and a three-time Oscar winner, is scheduled to be unveiled posthumously in October 2026.

The 2027 class

Beyond Bolle's category, the 2027 Walk of Fame class spans film, television, music, radio and sports. Film honourees include Idris Elba, Sam Elliott, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kate Hudson, Delroy Lindo, Sam Rockwell, Ted Sarandos and the duo Cheech and Chong. In television, Lisa Kudrow, Pedro Pascal, Adam Scott, Jeff Probst, Keke Palmer and Raven-Symone are among those selected. The music contingent features Karol G, David Guetta, Grandmaster Flash, Sia, Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne, and posthumous stars for Waylon Jennings and the Ramones. NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson is the sole sports inductee, while radio host Lenard McKelvey rounds out the list.
