Marco Silva previews Benfica clash with Gil Vicente ahead of matchday six
Benfica coach Marco Silva addressed the media ahead of Sunday's Primeira Liga match against Gil Vicente at Estadio da Luz, confirming defender Alexander Bah remains sidelined.
Benfica manager Marco Silva spoke to reporters ahead of Sunday's matchday six encounter against Gil Vicente at Estadio da Luz, aiming to maintain the club's unbeaten run in the Primeira Liga. Benfica moved into second place in the league standings following a midweek fixture against Moreirense, managing a tight calendar that began on 23 July.
Silva described Gil Vicente as an organized side capable of causing difficulties in wide areas despite recent form.
Gil Vicente is a quality opponent. They are not coming off a good result, but they started the season well. They concede very few goals, with well-defined principles, quality in their play, and good organization.
Regarding squad availability, Silva confirmed that Alexander Bah is unavailable for selection while continuing individual recovery work. Addressing questions about Argentina youth internationals Gianluca Prestianni and Claudio Echeverri, Silva stated that national team call-ups remain up to the Argentina manager, noting that the 20-year-old Prestianni has displayed exemplary attitude while Echeverri continues adapting to the team after recent travel.
