Net interest margin, the gap between what the bank earns on loans and what it pays on deposits, improved 5.68% to 1,761 million euros, which the bank linked to larger business volumes and better management of spreads. “The Bankinter Group maintains a solid evolution of its results at the close of the third quarter, supported by growth in client activity, diversification of income and disciplined business management.”
The bank also said it intends to keep combining profitable growth with financial strength, and to keep generating value for shareholders in what it described as a particularly demanding market.
Efficiency and generative AI
The efficiency ratio improved to 34.78%, or 34.8% in another report, which the bank linked to a lean group structure, the recent integration of its consumer subsidiary and a broad rollout of digital transformation measures.
