French bac 2026 results published: pass rates between 90% and 97% across eight academies
Results for the 2026 French baccalauréat (general series) were released on Tuesday 7 July, with pass rates before the rattrapage ranging from 90% to 97% across eight academies.
The academies of Nancy-Metz, Nice, Paris-Créteil-Versailles, Besançon, Strasbourg, Rennes, Nantes and La Réunion all published their results on 7 July. Pass rates (hors rattrapage, série générale) varied from 90% in Paris-Créteil-Versailles to 97% in Rennes. The share of candidates earning the top mention "Très Bien" ranged from 14% (Besançon, Rennes, Nantes) to 20% (Strasbourg). Students with an average between 8 and 10 out of 20 are called for oral rattrapages in two subjects of their choice.
