The audio release
The recordings, broadcast by Catalunya Ràdio and confirmed by defense sources, capture Jonathan Andic's calls to emergency services on 14 December 2024, just after his father Isak Andic fell from a ravine in Collbató, near Montserrat. Jonathan Andic is under investigation for alleged homicide, and the audios have become central to his defense.
I need help. I think my father has fallen down a ravine, please send someone, send an ambulance, send someone, please.
The three calls
According to the court summary, the fall occurred at 12:28. Jonathan Andic then spoke successively with a 112 operator, a firefighter from the Generalitat fire service, and a nurse from the Medical Emergency System (SEM). In the first call, he cried that he could not see his father: "I don't see him." During the third conversation, with nurse Anna, he shouted "Old man" after she urged him to stay calm. He told her he did not know where his father was.
The problem is I don't know where he is.
Defense strategy
Lawyer Cristóbal Martell, representing Jonathan Andic, submitted excerpts of the recordings in a 27-page appeal to the Barcelona Provincial Court against the pre-trial detention order. The defense aims to show that the son's desperation was genuine and not a staged performance, contradicting police suggestions of inconsistencies in his account.

The case is being handled by Examining Court No. 5 in Martorell. Jonathan Andic told investigators he only heard the noise of stones and a groan of pain before losing sight of his father's body. The release of the audios has intensified media and judicial scrutiny of the high-profile case.
