Amazon launches Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse AI recorders with $11.99 monthly Pro plan
The Bee Frontier wristband costs $74.99 and the Bee Eclipse phone attachment $99.99, with the software's paid Pro tier at $11.99 a month. Neither device is sold in Europe.
Two devices, one subscription
Amazon on Thursday, 15 October 2026, unveiled two wearable AI recorders from Bee, the startup it acquired in 2025. The Bee Frontier is a Fitbit-style module that can be worn on a wristband or clipped to clothing, priced at $74.99. The Bee Eclipse is a credit-card-sized unit that snaps magnetically to the back of a smartphone and costs $99.99. Amazon presents the Frontier as a way to stay present in the moment:
Bee Frontier is for people on the go who want to stay present in the moment.
Both devices transcribe conversations and turn them into summaries, reminders and to-dos, with templates such as Lectures for students and Meeting Minutes for office workers. Availability is uneven across reports: Engadget says the Frontier is on sale now at Amazon, The Verge calls the Eclipse coming soon, and The Next Web reports no release date for it. The $50 Bee Pioneer that came before the Frontier is no longer sold.

Hardware and battery
The Frontier has dual microphones, a more prominent recording button and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It runs for roughly seven days on a charge and comes in three colors, Onyx, Lavender and Sage. The Eclipse is larger, which allows a bigger battery, and The Verge reports 21 days on a single charge. Both devices carry a recording indicator light. Engadget notes the Eclipse looks like a battery pack, so its light may not read as a recording signal to people nearby, while Amazon says the light is what signals that a conversation is being summarized.

Subscription and data handling
The free tier includes conversation summaries and recaps, plus 14 days of memory. Bee Pro costs $11.99 a month and adds unlimited summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, templates, third-party integrations and a desktop app. Bee's founder says existing customers keep their current features free, while new buyers receive 30 days of Pro. Connecting Bee to Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple HealthKit and photos lets its AI draft emails or send calendar invites based on conversations. Amazon says audio is processed in real time and then deleted, and TechCrunch reports that transcripts are encrypted with keys the device creates and controls, which keeps them from Amazon staff unless a user shares them. The Amazon integration is opt-in and can surface shopping suggestions, such as a reminder about cat litter on the Amazon homepage.
Consent and Europe
Lawyers in four US states told Bloomberg in September 2026 that Apple Watch conversation recaps may break eavesdropping laws. The device needs a button press to start recording, and Amazon says the app prompts users to raise it with the people on a call. Connecting the device to an Echo for Voice ID, which recognizes the wearer's voice, is optional, and transcripts can be deleted at any time. Neither device is sold in Europe, and Germany treats recording another person's private speech as a criminal offence. Alexa+ has been in early access in Germany and Austria since May and in Italy, Spain and France since spring.
