Following the announcement from Algiers, the UAE government indicated through unofficial channels that it hoped the rupture would remain temporary. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, published remarks on social media addressing the nature of bilateral relations without directly naming Algeria. Gargash maintained that foreign diplomacy requires rational communication rather than ambiguous signals.
