Action recalls Cokoc fried egg gummy sweets over mold risk across Europe
Discount retailer Action issued a recall on 1 October 2026 for 80-gram packages of Cokoc fried egg gummies sold between July and September, offering full refunds without a receipt.
Mold detection and product recall
Dutch discount store chain Action issued an urgent consumer safety recall on 1 October 2026 for packaged gummy sweets sold under the Cokoc brand name. The recall applies specifically to 80-gram bags of egg-shaped confectionery, marketed as fried egg gummies. Action confirmed that premature mold growth had been detected inside packages well before the stated expiration date. The retail chain stated that the contaminated sweets are entirely unfit for human consumption. The affected stock was actively sold across Action branches in Germany, Poland, Italy, and other European countries between July 2026 and the end of September 2026. Action removed all remaining units from store shelves on 1 October 2026 when the safety notice was officially posted. The company instructed customers who have the product in their households to stop eating it immediately.
Distribution and batch identification
Customers can identify the recalled confectionery through product codes printed on the 80-gram pouches. The recalled items carry the Action article and lot number 3225164, together with the barcode EAN 6972007904589. Official notices published in Germany and Poland designate the minimum durability date as 24 October 2027, while Italian documentation recorded the date as 24 October 2026. The confectionery was imported into the European Union by Herman Kuijper BV, an international food trading company based in Amstelveen in the Netherlands. Herman Kuijper BV specializes in importing and distributing Asian food products. The importer and Action jointly initiated the withdrawal once early mold contamination was discovered across the batch. Both the importer and the retail chain designated the market action as a precautionary recall to prevent the consumption of spoiled sweets.

Return terms and consumer compensation
Action established an unconditional reimbursement process across its entire retail network. Consumers who bought the 80-gram Cokoc fried egg sweets can return them to any local Action branch. The retailer confirmed that customers will receive a complete refund of the purchase price without needing to present a receipt or proof of purchase. The policy applies to every unit from the recalled batch, whether the pouch is sealed or partially consumed. Physical branches across all participating countries are handling the returns directly at service desks, ensuring shoppers recover their money without administrative hurdles. The chain advised shoppers to check their pantry supplies and dispose of or return the bags as quickly as possible.
Retailer safety communication
In its public safety notification, Action detailed its quality control standards and corporate accountability regarding food safety.
We always take responsibility for this and do everything to protect you as a customer. That is why we inform you immediately if any of the items do not meet the criteria.
The retailer expressed regret over the product defect and thanked customers for assisting store staff with the recall.
On behalf of Action, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.
Because the fried egg gummy sweets are particularly popular among children, the store network specifically asked consumers to spread the safety warning to family members, friends, and relatives to ensure no dangerous packages remain in home cupboards.
