An 18-month-old boy died at Catanzaro's Pugliese-Ciaccio hospital on 22 July. Four other children from the same Tropea nursery were hospitalized with gastrointestinal symptoms; around a dozen fell ill in total. The Vibo Valentia prosecutor has opened an investigation and ordered an autopsy.
