Suspicious vehicle near Paris synagogue prompts evacuation of 300; military weapon found, anti-terrorism probe launched

French authorities evacuated about 300 people from a Sarcelles neighbourhood on 11 July 2026 after a suspicious vehicle was spotted near the town’s main synagogue. A military-style weapon was discovered inside the car, and the national anti-terrorism prosecutor has taken over the case.
