Dead basking shark found on Danish beach near Ålbæk leaves scientists searching for cause of death
A young female basking shark, the second-largest living shark species, was found dead on a beach near Ålbæk, Denmark on 8 August. A necropsy by eight Danish specialists found the animal healthy, with no injuries, no plastic, and food in its stomach, leaving the cause of death unknown.
