21-year-old killed after being ejected from van in crash on M-404 near Chinchón, Madrid
A 21-year-old man died after being thrown from a van that left the M-404 road near Chinchón, Madrid, at 6:10 AM on Sunday, 16 August 2026. Three other young occupants suffered minor injuries.
The crash
A van left the roadway at kilometer 56 of the M-404, near the town of Chinchón in the Community of Madrid, at 6:10 AM on Sunday, 16 August 2026. The vehicle was carrying four occupants. Upon arrival, SUMMA 112 medical teams confirmed that one of them, a 21-year-old man, had been ejected from the vehicle. His injuries were incompatible with life, and medical personnel could only certify his death at the scene.
The injured occupants
The three other occupants, described as two women and one man of approximately the same age as the deceased, suffered minor injuries. Both source articles, one from El Confidencial and one from Europa Press, reported the same detail that all four occupants were young people of roughly similar age.
Emergency response
Two crews from the Madrid Community Firefighters were dispatched to the scene for preventive operations. SUMMA 112 also mobilized a psychologist to the location. The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crash. No further details about the cause of the accident have been released.
