Laura Vicol files criminal complaint against PM candidate Siegfried Mureșan over Nordis label
Former PSD deputy Laura Vicol, a defendant in the Nordis real estate fraud case, has filed a criminal complaint against MEP Siegfried Mureșan, the PNL-USR-UDMR proposal for prime minister, accusing him of fueling a public hate campaign by associating her with the scandal in a Facebook post.
The complaint
Laura Vicol said she discovered a December 2025 Facebook post by Siegfried Mureșan that labeled her "Laura Vicol (Nordis)" and urged readers to "not forget". She filed the criminal complaint on 27 June 2026, asking authorities to examine the post in the context of a two-year public denigration campaign.
Every person answers for their own words. I will not accept that such messages are treated as having no consequences.
Alleged hate campaign
Vicol claimed that she and her children have faced threats, insults and violent messages since a Recorder investigation into the Nordis case. She argued that any public figure should have known the effects of repeating the Nordis label.
Without any reservation, this servant of foreigners threatens me in a post addressed to a large audience.
Political context
Siegfried Mureșan, an MEP, is currently the prime minister candidate proposed by the PNL, USR and UDMR alliance. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) opposes a rotating government formula that excludes it, and Mureșan has drawn increasing attacks amid the government crisis. Vicol, a former PSD member, has separately praised President Nicușor Dan.
No response
As of the articles' publication on 27 June 2026, Mureșan had not publicly reacted to the criminal complaint announcement.
