Former president Andrzej Duda posted a message on social media, calling the anniversary a historic jubilee.
On this historic 250th Jubilee of American independence, I extend my warmest congratulations to the United States and the American people! Our nations are bound by a friendship built over centuries, rooted in love of freedom and democracy. May God bring America another 250 years of glorious independence, and to all of us Poles and Americans another 250 years of strong friendship and Polish-American partnership. God bless America and the American people! Happy Independence Day, America!
President Karol Nawrocki also sent greetings, thanking Donald Trump for his goodwill toward Poland.
Nawrocki highlighted the shared ideals of freedom dating back to the 18th century, mentioning Tadeusz Kościuszko and Kazimierz Pułaski, who fought for American independence.
