According to police, the man left the roadway for reasons that remain unclear and collided with a wooden fence. Witnesses at the scene immediately provided first aid, but the 26-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the accident site. B8 near Straubing: right-of-way error leads to fatal head-on collision
On the Bundesstraße 8 near Straubing, a 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash triggered by a right-of-way violation. Police said a 39-year-old car driver, when entering the B8, overlooked the vehicle of a 25-year-old and failed to yield. The 25-year-old attempted to swerve, and the two cars made contact. The 25-year-old's vehicle then crossed onto the oncoming lane, where a group of three motorcyclists was riding at that moment. The car collided head-on with the motorcycle of the 43-year-old.
The 43-year-old biker was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died shortly after arrival. The 25-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, according to the current state of information. The 39-year-old driver who caused the accident by failing to yield remained uninjured.
