KRRiT reprimands TVN over 'Cenne marzenia' housing report, station has 14 days to respond
Poland's National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has reprimanded TVN over a March 2026 housing market report in which a Dekpol Deweloper employee was presented as an ordinary young buyer. More than 200 complaints reached the regulator.
The reprimand
The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has issued a reprimand to TVN over the reportage 'Cenne marzenia' by Dominika Ziółkowska, which aired in the Fakty news programme on 14 March 2026. The regulator accuses the reporter of failing to exercise due diligence in preparing the segment. The report, on the housing market in Poland, was filmed at a property fair in Gdynia. According to the reports, TVN has 14 days to respond.

Who appeared on screen
The segment presented a man and a woman as a young couple looking for their first flat. Internet users quickly identified the woman as a sales support specialist at Dekpol Deweloper. The company said she attended the fair in her free time, privately, with her husband, and that she spoke as a private person interested in buying an apartment. It denied that the segment was staged, promotional or a form of covert advertising, saying her comments were spontaneous and given at the reporter's request. A man introduced on screen as a representative of 'Instytut Dewelopera' also appeared, but the regulator found that no entity of that name is listed in the CEIDG or KRS registers, and it treated citing him as a gross error.
Complaints and the regulator's findings
More than 200 complaints reached KRRiT, according to Wirtualne Media, and chair Agnieszka Glapiak opened clarification proceedings. The same outlet reported that complainants received a letter in early October 2026 from Anna Szydłowska-Żurawska, director of the KRRiT presidential department, setting out the chair's decisions. In that letter, the regulator said the report did not provide viewers with any information about credit risk.
In the reportage 'Cenne marzenia', an employee of one of the developer companies taking part in the fair in fact encouraged viewers to invest in the housing market. The viewers received no information about credit risk. Such failings are not in the interest of viewers.
The regulator also said the reportage's own data showed property prices rising by more than 8%, while a man on screen discussed negotiating prices with developers. Taken together, KRRiT argued, these elements could give the impression that buying conditions were exceptionally favourable.
Reaction and next steps
Conservative outlet wPolityce.pl described the segment as manipulation and hidden lobbying for developers, and said the regulator found it breached Article 12 of the Press Law. Do Rzeczy reported that TVN must now present information on the steps it will take to prevent similar cases. The reprimand comes with a 14-day window for the station's reply, and the case centres on the reporter's failure to disclose the link between the 'young couple' and the developer.
