Romanian trapper Ian apologizes after urinating on stage at Bucharest concert with minors present
Ian, a Romanian trapper, has been placed under judicial control for 60 days after urinating on stage at a Bucharest concert attended by minors.
The incident and police response
Anghel Bogdan Georgian, known as IAN, urinated on stage during a concert at Arenele Romane in Bucharest. Police from Section 14 in Bucharest acted ex officio after they saw the images. He is being investigated for outrage against public decency (ultraj contra bunelor moravuri), and he has been placed under judicial control for 60 days.
His apology
Ian addressed the incident in videos posted to his Instagram story, less than a week after it happened, according to Stirile ProTV. He said he had no negative intention toward the people there.
I never had any negative intention toward the people there, toward my fans, toward anyone else's work.
He explained that he acted on impulse and did not consider the presence of minors.
I acted on impulse, I didn't think there were minors there, it just didn't cross my mind.
He accepted responsibility for the situation.
I'm a man, I take responsibility, and legally I am suffering the consequences, and publicly too.
The minors in the audience
Ian said the audience was no longer made up largely of minors and that he had counted parental consent forms showing about 300 minors present. He said he apologized to the children at the concert, their parents, the event team and his colleagues, including Edi, known as Azteca, whom he said should not suffer career damage because of his actions. He also said he had apologized to them personally.
Ian said he did not speak publicly right away because his lawyers advised him to wait until things calmed down and the legal procedures, including the judicial control, were further along.
I did not come out on the internet until now because that is what my lawyers advised.
Where the case stands
Ian said he is facing legal consequences for the incident and ended his statement with a pledge about future conduct.
I've learned my lesson!
