VfB Stuttgart forward Tiago Tomás ruled out for weeks with muscle injury
VfB Stuttgart forward Tiago Tomás will miss upcoming fixtures after suffering a muscle injury in training, head coach Sebastian Hoeneß confirmed.
VfB Stuttgart forward Tiago Tomás will be sidelined for the coming weeks after sustaining a muscle injury during training. Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß announced the injury ahead of the team's first home Bundesliga match of the season against 1. FC Köln.
Tomás had started in Stuttgart's first two competitive fixtures of the season, a 4-0 DFB-Pokal victory over Hansa Rostock and a 1-5 defeat against FC Bayern Munich. Hoeneß stated that the Portuguese forward suffered a minor muscle issue and will only return after the international break.
Stuttgart will also be without goalkeeper Dennis Seimen, Luca Jaquez, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Nikolas Nartey, Jeremy Arevalo, and Justin Diehl for the match on Friday. Lorenz Assignon has returned to full team training, Chris Führich took part in most sessions throughout the week, and new signing Leo Sauer will join the squad for the first time.
