Three men die in fire at single-storey pavilion in west London

A fire at a single-storey pavilion on New Zealand Way in White City, west London, led to the deaths of three men on Saturday evening. The London Fire Brigade was called to the scene shortly before 7 pm, with the structure already well alight. The pavilion, a single-storey building close to Loftus Road and the Queens Park Rangers football ground, was described by LFB Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne at the scene.

Emergency response and casualties
Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines, drawn from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick and surrounding fire stations, responded to the blaze. First reports were received at 6:52 pm, and the fire was brought under control by 9:25 pm. Firefighters rescued three men from the building. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third was taken to hospital but died later from his injuries.
Control officers mobilised crews from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick and surrounding fire stations to the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by 9.25pm.

Investigation underway
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The London Fire Brigade's specialist fire investigation officers and the Metropolitan Police Service have launched a joint investigation.
