
17-year-old confesses to stabbing aunt to death and dumping her body in a river in San Stino di Livenza
A 17-year-old boy in San Stino di Livenza, near Venice, admitted to killing his 53-year-old aunt Chiara Guerra and discarding her body in a river, after relatives reported her missing.
The killing and disposal
A 17-year-old Italian boy from San Stino di Livenza attacked his aunt Chiara Guerra, 53, with a knife in the family home on Thursday, 11 June 2026. According to investigators, he struck her repeatedly in various parts of her body, causing immediate death from the injuries. The young man then tried to erase any traces, moving the body out of the garden and throwing it into the river that flows near the house. The body was left close to a lock between via Canaletta and via Verdi, where firefighters are now concentrating their search.
Discovery and the missing-persons report
Relatives reported the woman missing on Saturday, 13 June. After a few hours of investigation, the carabinieri pressed the nephew hard; his account of the previous days contained several gaps. The inquiry quickly shifted from a missing-person case to a homicide investigation.
Interrogation and confession
Throughout the night between 13 and 14 June, the teenager was questioned by the carabinieri and by prosecutor Carmelo Barbaro of the Pordenone Public Prosecutor’s Office. Under pressure from the magistrate, he confessed to the murder. At the end of the initial checks, the file was transmitted to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Trieste, which has jurisdiction given his age. A medical examiner, Antonello Cirnelli, was also on site for forensic examinations.

The boy will turn 18 in a couple of months.
