Harry Styles collapses on stage at Wembley after choking on water amid record June heat
Pop star Harry Styles stumbled and fell during his Wembley Stadium show after swallowing water incorrectly, as London roasted in a third consecutive record-hot June day at 37.5°C. The singer resumed the concert moments later, and fans' videos of the episode have gone viral.
What happened
During the final stretch of his concert at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday evening, 26 June, Harry Styles began coughing, reached for a water bottle, and attempted his signature whale-spout gesture, spraying water into the air. He then choked, turned away from the crowd, clutched his chest, and collapsed to the stage. The singer lay on the floor for several seconds, breathing deeply and coughing, before getting to his feet under his own power and leaving the stage waving at fans. The incident was captured on video by multiple concertgoers and spread rapidly across TikTok and other platforms.
Heat and safety measures
The mishap occurred against the backdrop of a severe heat wave. According to Il Fatto Quotidiano, 26 June set a new daily record for the month for the third day in a row, with temperatures reaching 37.5°C. Telegraaf reported that when doors opened around 17:00 the temperature was 33°C, and by the time Styles took the stage at 20:05 it had dropped to roughly 31°C. La Vanguardia cited a high of 35°C for the day. Earlier in his residency, Styles had addressed the audience to emphasise heat precautions.
Let's take good care of each other. Stay hydrated. If anyone needs help, let us know. We can stop the show at any time.
The venue organisers also announced over the public address system that water was being sold at half price and encouraged the 80,000 attendees to drink plenty.

Fan reactions and viral spread
Videos of the fall triggered an outpouring of worried messages. Comments included "Breathe Harry!" and "I almost had a heart attack watching the livestream." Others wrote they feared he had fainted from heat exhaustion. The footage showed Styles eventually recovering and completing the show as scheduled, calming the immediate alarm.
Remaining shows and weather outlook
Styles has two days off before the final four concerts of his 12-night Wembley residency. La Vanguardia reports that the heat wave is expected to ease during the last leg, with forecasts of cooler temperatures and even rain showers, reducing the strain on both performers and audience.
