Ruch Chorzów secured a 1-0 victory over Stal Rzeszów in the final match of round five of the Betclic 1. Liga on Monday evening, 24 August 2026. The decisive sequence arrived late in the opening half after the ball struck Stal defender Ksawery Kukułka inside the penalty box in the 41st minute. The referee awarded a penalty for handball, and the decision was upheld following a video assistant referee review, despite television replays indicating the ball struck Kukułka below the chin.
