Gonçalo Ramos signs five-year contract with AC Milan, leaving PSG to reunite with Ruben Amorim
Portuguese international Gonçalo Ramos has completed a permanent move from Paris Saint-Germain to AC Milan, signing a contract that runs until June 2031. The 25-year-old striker will link up with new Rossoneri head coach Ruben Amorim and compatriot Rafael Leão.
Transfer confirmed
AC Milan announced the signing of Gonçalo Ramos on a five-year deal on Tuesday, confirming the Portugal forward's arrival from Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian club stated that Ramos had signed until 30 June 2031. No official fee was disclosed, but Italian and French media reports place the transfer between €60 million and €70 million, with Portuguese daily A BOLA specifying a figure of €60 million including bonuses.
AC Milan announces the permanent signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC. The Portuguese forward has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2031.
Ramos will wear the Rossoneri shirt after three seasons in Paris, where he often featured as a substitute. He moves to a side that finished fifth in Serie A last season and is now managed by Ruben Amorim, who was appointed on 16 June 2026 for his second stint abroad after a spell at Manchester United.
Portuguese reunions at San Siro
The move reunites Ramos with Amorim, a coach he knows well from the Portuguese game, and with Portugal teammate Rafael Leão. The club's social media welcomed Ramos simply:
No introduction needed. Welcome, Gonçalo Ramos.
Ramos joins immediately despite being on duty with Portugal at the 2026 World Cup. He will compete for a starting role in an attack that already features Leão, looking to claim the regular minutes that eluded him in France.
A prolific Benfica graduate
Ramos rose through the Benfica academy and made his senior debut in the 2019/20 season. He recorded his best campaign in 2022/23, scoring 27 goals in 47 appearances as Benfica won the Primeira Liga and reached the Champions League quarter-finals. That breakthrough season earned him a loan move to PSG with an obligation to buy, which the French club triggered in 2024 for €65 million plus €15 million in potential add-ons.
PSG chapter falls short of expectations
In his three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, Ramos made 131 appearances but started only 54 of those, scoring 45 goals. Under Luis Enrique last season he managed 12 goals and one assist in 45 outings, frequently deployed from the bench behind Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola. The forward never secured an undisputed starting role, prompting the switch to Milan.
- Makes senior debut for Benfica in the 2019/20 season
- Scores 27 goals in 47 games as Benfica win the Primeira Liga (2022/23)
- Joins Paris Saint-Germain on loan with an obligation to buy
- PSG exercises the purchase option for €65 million plus add-ons
- Ruben Amorim is appointed as AC Milan head coach
- Signs a five-year contract with AC Milan, valid until 2031
The transfer fee, reported as between €60 million and €70 million with bonuses, returns a portion of the investment PSG made two years ago. Milan hope the change of scenery and a familiar Portuguese-speaking camp will unlock the striker who was once one of Europe's most sought-after young forwards.
