
Clouds and rain showers greet the new week in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, temperatures stay below 23 degrees
After a grey Sunday, Monday will bring more clouds and scattered showers to Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, with highs mostly under 23 degrees Celsius before a warmer, rainier Tuesday.
Sunday’s grey skies
The weekend closed under overcast conditions across Hesse and parts of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland. Daytime temperatures reached between 17 and 22 degrees in Hesse (around 15 degrees in the uplands) and 19 to 23 degrees further west, with isolated showers mainly north of the Main river and in the northeast. The DWD noted that strong gusts were possible in northern and elevated areas of Hesse.
Monday outlook
Sunday night stays largely dry with variable cloud and clearer skies toward the south. Lows will drop to 6–10 degrees in Hesse and 7–12 degrees in the Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland region. Monday itself will be partly to mostly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 17 to 23 degrees in Hesse (around 14 degrees in higher terrain) and 18 to 24 degrees in the west. The south may see some sunny spells, while individual showers can still develop.
Isolated rain showers are possible again and again on Monday.
Warmer Tuesday ahead
Monday night begins with only light cloud before thicker cloud fields move in from the west, bringing the chance of rain by morning. Overnight lows again settle between 6 and 10 degrees in Hesse and 7 to 12 degrees in the Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland area. On Tuesday, skies will turn largely overcast with periods of rain. According to the DWD, temperatures will climb noticeably, reaching 22 to 26 degrees in Hesse (about 19 degrees in the hills) and a summery 22 to 28 degrees in the western states.
