Joaquin Niemann closed with a 2-under 69 on Sunday to win LIV Golf New York at Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey, finishing at 16-under 268 and three strokes clear of American Harold Varner III. The 27-year-old Chilean led from the opening round, weathering a late challenge from Varner before pulling away with a 56-foot birdie putt at the 13th hole and a long eagle putt at the par-5 15th to build a four-stroke cushion. A bogey at 17 only trimmed the margin. Niemann opened with a bogey at the first hole and birdied the par-three seventh before his late charge. England's Lee Westwood and Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe shared third, both seven shots off the pace at 9-under. Varner shot 70 to finish second at 13-under. The victory was Niemann's ninth in LIV Golf, all in the past three years, extending his own record. He also won earlier this season in South Korea.

I feel like the more they push me, the better golfer I'm going to become from every experience than I experience. To be able to hit the shots that I did and make the putts that I did coming down the stretch, I put credit on myself.

Rahm wraps up season title despite worst finish

Jon Rahm shot a closing 76 to tie for 41st at 8 over par, his worst finish of the 2026 season, yet still clinched his third consecutive LIV Golf individual season championship with one regular-season event remaining. The 31-year-old Spaniard, ranked world number 13, entered the week with 938.44 points, more than 200 ahead of Bryson DeChambeau, and holds an unassailable 219-point lead heading into the finale in Indianapolis in two weeks. DeChambeau shot 71 and tied for 38th at 7 over, 23 shots off the lead, failing to narrow the gap.

Rahm's 2026 campaign differed sharply from his 2025 title, which he claimed without winning a single event. This season he won LIV Golf Hong Kong in March and LIV Golf Mexico City in April, and added runner-up finishes in Riyadh, Adelaide, South Africa, and Andalucia. In his first six tournaments, Rahm posted two wins, three seconds, and a fifth-place finish, building a lead that proved insurmountable. Rahm pointed to his Hong Kong victory as his proudest moment, describing how he lost the lead before birdieing four in a row in the final holes.

It's been a great year. A little sour taste in my mouth because of how badly I played this week. But it's been something to be proud of.

Rahm will collect an $18 million prize for the season title. He said he planned to celebrate once he returned home to his family, probably that night.

Team results and league future

Crushers, captained by DeChambeau, won the LIV Golf New York team title at 6-over par, defeating Legion XIII and Torque by two strokes. The LIV season concludes with the team championship in Michigan from August 27 to 30.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil said during the week that the league has signed a term sheet with a lead investor that would allow it to continue without Saudi Arabia funding. O'Neil did not identify the investor or the size of the investment.

What's next

The final regular-season event, LIV Golf Indianapolis, takes place in two weeks. Though Rahm has already secured the individual season title, the rivalry among Rahm, Niemann, and DeChambeau has defined LIV Golf since the Spaniard joined ahead of the 2024 season.

I've gone head-to-head with both of them quite a few times. They've won some, I've won some. It's been quite interesting. It's been a lot of fun. The only thing we've missed is one week where all three of us were firing on all cylinders and we could have enjoyed that.

Niemann met US President Donald Trump after extending his LIV record to nine titles. Rahm noted the oddity of clinching the season crown with a tournament still to play.

It's weird because in golf, it's something that it's odd to have still one more tournament before things are done. Most season-long races, you have to wait until the last event because the last event counts so much. But it feels different this year.
