Bad Bunny closes Madrid residency with Quevedo as the final surprise guest
The Puerto Rican superstar capped ten sold-out nights at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano with Canarian singer Quevedo and rapper Dei V, sending 640,000 fans home.
The last night of the residency
After nine consecutive sold-out shows, Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) returned to the Metropolitano stadium on Monday for the closing night of his Madrid residency, part of the 'DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS' world tour. The nearly three-hour set drew 64,000 fans, bringing the total audience across the ten Spanish dates to 640,000. The structure mirrored the earlier concerts: an opening block on the main stage followed by a party segment on the secondary 'Casita' stage, a setup that had stirred controversy over the selection of influencers invited to dance there.
Madrid, even though I'm a tourist here, you made me feel at home.
The surprise guests
A countdown on the venue’s screens signaled an unrepeatable moment, and Quevedo appeared on the rooftop of the Casita. The 24-year-old Canarian singer performed a remix of 'Columbia' with Bad Bunny, then stayed for three solo tracks: 'Wanda', 'Scandic' and the massive hit 'BZRP Music Sessions #52' (Quédate), which the crowd sang in its entirety. Earlier, Puerto Rican rapper Dei V had joined the headliner for 'VeLDÁ' (one outlet, 20 minutos, named the guest Omar Courtz instead). Bad Bunny had already brought out Lunay, Mora, De La Ghetto, Eladio Carrión and Myke Towers during the residency, but the reception for Quevedo was, by several accounts, the loudest.
While you're alive, you should love as much as you can.
The setlist and atmosphere
The concert opened with 'LA MuDANZA' and rolled through 'Callaita', 'PIToRRO DE COCO', 'WELTiTA', 'TURiSTA', 'BAILE INoLVIDABLE' and 'NUEVAYoL'. Later, inside the Casita, the artist played 'Tití Me Preguntó', 'No Me Conoce' and the self-affirming 'Yo Perreo Sola', which he had already showcased at the Super Bowl. Influencers Marta Díaz, Marina Rivers and Dulceida were among those spotted dancing onstage, as was Brazilian DJ Pedro Sampaio. A downpour the previous night had not dampened the crowd’s energy, and the Monday finale kept fans singing until the last note.
Tour continues
With Madrid behind him, Bad Bunny heads to Germany for two shows in Düsseldorf on 20 and 21 June. The European leg marks the first time in years that the Puerto Rican star has performed on the continent; the Barcelona concerts that preceded the Madrid residency had already been met with similar fervor.
