League leaders FC Porto travel to the Estadio Municipal de Rio Maior on Saturday evening to face bottom-placed Casa Pia in matchday 6 of the Primeira Liga. Francesco Farioli's side enter the fixture at 18:00 local time holding a perfect domestic record of five wins from five matches, with 11 goals scored and one conceded. In contrast, Casa Pia sit 18th in the standings with one point from their opening five fixtures, having scored once and conceded 11 goals across four defeats and one draw. The hosts have lost both of their home games so far this season without scoring.

Porto seek response after Champions League defeat

The fixture follows Porto's first defeat of the season, a midweek loss away to Manchester City on 8 September in the UEFA Champions League. While goalkeeper Diogo Costa produced a solid defensive display in England, Porto failed to register a shot on target. The Portuguese champions now return to a venue where they suffered their first league defeat of the previous campaign in February. Farioli warned against complacency ahead of next week's derby against Benfica, who sit two points behind alongside Sporting.

Farioli also noted that new midfield signing Seko Fofana is not ready to start, though forward Santiago Gimenez has returned to fitness alongside expected starter Andre Silva.

Casa Pia adjust to counter high press

Casa Pia manager Filipe Coelho must replace starting goalkeeper Andre Gomes, who suffered an adductor longus muscle tear against Vitoria SC and will miss several weeks, granting summer arrival Ivan Mandic his first league start. Coelho noted that his squad has added reinforcements since their 0-7 defeat against Benfica in matchday 2 and will focus on resisting Porto's high-pressing system across the full pitch. It is a very intense team that matches man-to-man across the whole pitch with very high pressing. We have to be intelligent to understand how we can escape that pressure and stop the strong momentum that FC Porto will want to impose from the first minute.
