Pedro Martins extends Al Gharafa contract until 2028 after second straight Emir Cup
Portuguese manager Pedro Martins has signed a two-year contract extension with Qatari club Al Gharafa, keeping him at the helm until 2028 after four seasons and two consecutive Emir Cup titles.
Contract extension
Pedro Martins has signed a two-year contract extension with Al Gharafa, the Qatari club announced on Saturday. The Portuguese manager will now remain at the helm until 2028, extending a tenure that began four years ago. The deal was confirmed via the club's social media channels.
Record at the club
Martins has overseen 128 matches for Al Gharafa, recording 56 wins, 25 draws and 47 defeats. His tenure has brought two Qatar Emir Cup titles, won in the last two consecutive seasons. The club's decision to extend his contract follows that domestic success.
Martins' statement
I believe in well-structured projects with vision, continuity and a growth perspective. This agreement for two more years reinforces my belief in the project and the club's future. I thank the board, my technical staff and everyone at Al Gharafa for the trust in my work.
He added:
We remain aligned and with the same desire to continue the growth that has been achieved so far. We couldn't start the new season in a better way, let's work.
Next season
The renewal comes as Al Gharafa prepares for the new campaign, with Martins expressing eagerness to build on recent achievements. The club has not disclosed financial terms of the extension.
