Ukraine launches 620 drones at Moscow region, hitting Wildberries hub and wounding three
Russian air defense intercepted 180 of 620 Ukrainian drones aimed at the Moscow region on 18 August 2026, with debris damaging a logistics hub in Noginsk, cutting local power, and injuring three people.
Scale of the 18 August drone barrage
Ukrainian forces launched approximately 620 drones toward Moscow and surrounding areas during the night of 18 August 2026. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that air defenses intercepted 180 incoming craft over regional airspace, with 103 heading directly for the Russian capital. Civilian damage, injuries and power cuts
Falling debris resulted in at least three injuries in Moscow Oblast, according to Vorobyov. A 10-year-old girl, an adult woman, and a 27-year-old man received hospital treatment for their injuries. Regional emergency services responded to damage across several districts, including three private homes, civil registry offices, a store, and an electrical transformer station. Fires broke out at a guesthouse, a commercial pavilion, and construction scaffolding at a housing development. In Pavlovsky Posad, falling wreckage ignited the roof of a multi-family residential building, prompting an evacuation of residents without recorded casualties.
Repelling the drone attack is ongoing. All emergency and operational services are working in heightened mode. We will provide updates as new information arrives.
Local electricity distributor MosObłEnergo recorded power cuts in Likino-Dulyovo and Orekhovo-Zuyevo, leaving over 5,000 consumers and 46 municipal sites without electricity. Disruptions also occurred across Crimea, where regional provider Krymenergo reported network damage cutting power to southern, eastern, and northwestern communities.
Disruption to Wildberries logistics and aviation
The barrage also struck facilities operated by Wildberries, Russia's largest e-commerce platform. Debris struck a warehouse wall at the Atlant-Park logistics complex in Bogorodsky district near Noginsk, starting a fire that emergency crews quickly extinguished. The company stated that preventative measures averted employee injuries and cargo destruction.
An evacuation was carried out in advance on the premises of the facility, in accordance with safety requirements. Goods were not damaged.
Ukrainian officials classify Wildberries sites as military targets because the platform supplies items like helmets and body armor to Russian troops. Ukrainian strikes since 18 July 2026 have hit more than 20 Wildberries centers, burning at least 14 completely and disabling seven of the company's 10 largest hubs. Rosaviation also suspended flights at Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky at 1:23, and Sheremetyevo at 5:53, lifting the measures later that morning.

- Drones strike the TANEKO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk.
- Flamingo missiles hit the Progress Rocket Space Centre in Samara.
- An overnight attack involving about 600 drones targets Wildberries warehouses in Koledino.
- A barrage of 620 drones targets Moscow Oblast and hits the Noginsk Atlant-Park facility.
Campaign against Russian industrial and military sites
The Moscow strikes follow other Ukrainian operations against industrial and military infrastructure in August 2026. Prior attacks struck the TANEKO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk on 10 August, the Progress Rocket Space Centre in Samara with Flamingo cruise missiles on 15 August, and the Savasleyka air base. On 16 August, Russia reported downing over 800 drones following strikes on the Koledino and Severnoye Domodedovo logistics hubs. In an 8 August interview with TSN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia had shifted air defense systems toward Moscow, opening defensive gaps in border sectors.
