The Chase Greece unveils Petroula Gkaniou as new Chaser Kyria PantaXerei
Greek television game show The Chase has introduced former contestant Petroula Gkaniou as its sixth resident quiz master for season six on MEGA.
Season launch and cast expansion on MEGA
The Greek television quiz show The Chase commenced its sixth broadcast season on the MEGA channel on Monday, 28 September 2026, under the ongoing presentation of host Maria Bekatorou. During the broadcast on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, the production officially revealed the identity of a sixth Chaser who is joining the show's established lineup of trivia pursuers. The new specialist enters the competition under the on-screen moniker Kyria PantaXerei, bringing a fresh dynamic to the daily quiz confrontations. In every broadcast, new groups of contestants must test their memory and quick recall against the renewed lineup. Players must maintain a safe distance on the game board, outrun the countdown clock, and navigate challenging trivia rounds to secure and take home the cash prize.
From 2022 contestant to resident Chaser
The personality behind the Kyria PantaXerei persona is Petroula Gkaniou, a trivia veteran who first made a mark on the series as an ordinary competitor. Gkaniou originally appeared as a contestant on The Chase in 2022, where she gained widespread attention from viewers and production staff by demonstrating a high standard of broad factual knowledge. While her on-screen presence can appear stern upon first impression, the production notes her sharp wit, biting humor, and disarming one-liners that alter the atmosphere of the chases. Having experienced the tension of competing as a player on the board, she now assumes the seat of an official pursuer, setting her own pace and tactics against incoming participants.

Academic training and career in public service
Prior to entering television broadcasting as a resident quiz expert, Gkaniou completed an academic journey and pursued an extensive professional career in education and the judiciary. She earned her undergraduate degree from the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens before pursuing postgraduate studies. She subsequently secured a master's degree focused specifically on the field of Ancient Greek Studies. Following the completion of her academic training, Gkaniou worked for 24 years as a philologist within the Greek secondary education system. After more than two decades in secondary classrooms, she chose to change her career trajectory and currently serves as a judicial clerk at the First Instance Court of Tripoli.
The six-member lineup of Greek Chasers
Gkaniou joins five established trivia pursuers who have defined the Greek adaptation of the international format across previous seasons. The returning cast consists of To Vouno (The Mountain), To Geraki (The Falcon), I Gynaika me ta Mavra (The Woman in Black), O Adekastos Epitheoritis (The Incorruptible Inspector), and Super Agori (Super Boy). The veteran ensemble welcomed the sixth member to their ranks at the beginning of the sixth season, announcing their readiness to raise competitive pressure on the stage. With six Chasers now in active rotation on MEGA, contestants face a diverse field of opponents across daily afternoon broadcasts as they try to answer questions accurately and secure financial winnings.
