Greek police arrest nine members of Mykonos drug ring seizing pink cocaine and cash
Greek authorities arrested nine alleged gang members and one buyer on Mykonos on 21 August 2026, uncovering a distribution network that used tourist transfer vans to sell pink cocaine and other narcotics.
Morning raid across Mykonos
Officers from the Sub-Directorate for Drug Prosecution of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime dismantled a drug trafficking network on Mykonos during an operation on the morning of 21 August 2026. The action was supported by Special Operational Teams from the Sub-Directorate for Information and Special Actions. Police arrested nine suspected members of the ring alongside a 22-year-old individual detained for separate drug possession. Investigators established the suspects' identities and operational methods through profiling, intelligence gathering, and cross-referenced data collected during summer inspections across the Aegean islands. The Hellenic Police estimated the expected financial gain from the seized narcotics and confiscated funds at more than 170,000 euros. The case file has been submitted to the competent judicial authorities.
Organizational hierarchy and van network
The investigation revealed a defined division of responsibilities within the group. A 35-year-old Turkish national served as the leader, managing drug procurement, logistics to Mykonos, packaging, member supplies, client outreach, and revenue collection. He stored the illicit substances in his residence alongside an immediate associate, a 35-year-old Moldovan national who assisted with storage, drug distribution, customer acquisition, and cash handling. A 54-year-old Turkish woman acted as the group's treasurer, holding proceeds and transporting profits from Mykonos to Athens.

The network relied heavily on passenger transport services to reach clients among visiting tourists. A 34-year-old Greek driver used his access to passengers in private transport vans to identify potential buyers. Five additional peripheral members, aged 24, 28, 29, 32, and 34, similarly used their positions as transport drivers or passenger escorts to solicit buyers, move narcotics, and store cash proceeds. The network consisted of Greek, Turkish, Moldovan, Albanian, and Algerian nationals.
Narcotics and asset seizures
Searches conducted across residences on Mykonos and in the Attica region yielded a variety of illicit substances packaged for retail distribution. Officers seized 359.5 grams of cocaine, 155.2 grams of pink cocaine, 58.3 grams of MDMA, 277.8 grams of raw cannabis, 113 ecstasy tablets, and four cannabis vaping devices.

Suspect backgrounds and legal proceedings
Four of the arrested individuals had prior records with Greek law enforcement agencies. The 35-year-old Turkish leader was previously charged in 2022 by the Kolonos security department for cocaine possession, in 2023 by the Mykonos police department for aggressive client solicitation, and in February 2026 by the Omonoia crime investigation department for raw cannabis possession. Among the peripheral members, the 28-year-old Albanian national had prior records for traffic violations and attempted theft, while the 24-year-old Greek national had a history of property damage and arson. The detained individuals are scheduled to appear before the public prosecutor.
